This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Security, Facilities and Logistics Operations, Security Management Group (SMG). As a Personnel Security Specialist, GS-0080-12, you will be responsible for performing credential processing functions and front-end personnel security investigative and adjudicative processes for CMS employees and contractors.
What You'll Do
- →Processing PIV credentials for CMS employees and contractors through enrollment, issuance, post-issuance, and credential lifecycle support.
- →Administering the agencywide PIV induction program and ensuring applicant documentation and credentialing actions meet federal and agency requirements.
- →Initiating and coordinating background investigations, reviewing fingerprint results and required forms, and processing reciprocity cases.
- →Analyzing credentialing operations, tracking data, and customer service results to identify improvements and recommend procedural changes.
- →Coordinating credentialing and personnel security support for new employee orientation, position sensitivity designations, contract requirements, and special projects.
