What You'll Do
- →Facilitates visitor understanding, enjoyment, and meaningful connections to park resources and stories through interpretive programming and personal engagement.
- →Support daily operational needs by providing accurate information, responding to visitor inquiries, and ensuring positive visitor experiences at contact stations and throughout the park.
- →Promote a culture of safety within the park and team environment, emphasizing psychological safety, mutual respect, open communication, and collaboration.
- →Encourage and model visitor behaviors that support resource protection, ensuring friendly compliance with park laws, regulations, and safe use guidelines.
- →Fosters peer learning and development by mentoring and coaching team members.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males must meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement.
- ✓Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and/or shift work.
- ✓You may be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties.
- ✓You will also submit a photocopy of their valid State issued driver's license prior to your first official motor vehicle operation, and again every year, or more frequently if management determines such need exists.
- ✓Lastly, selectee may be required to submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that discloses all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by selectee.
- ✓Please indicate in your application whether you possess a valid State driver's license.
- ✓Must be able to maintain a bicycle and bicycle equipment, including performing routine safety checks and basic upkeep to ensure all gear remains in safe, working condition.
- ✓To qualify based on education, you must submit a legible copy of transcripts from an accredited institution with your name, school name, credit hours, course level, major(s), and grade-point average or class ranking.
- ✓Transcripts do not need to be official, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.
