About the Role
The incumbent serves as Painter within the Facilities Management Service, Engineering Branch at the Orlando VA Health Care System (OVAHCS). The Painter WG-09 will be responsible for the day to day maintenance of a variety of tasks involved in the upkeep of buildings, grounds and related structures, fixtures, and new construction sites/areas to support more than 1.8 million square feet of facility space across the main campus and associated outpatient clinics.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include, but are not limited to: Painting one-of-a-kind pieces of casework such as consoles and cabinets.
- →Work from oral instructions, blueprints, work orders and rough sketches.
- →Plan and lay out work to be done, select the proper tools, determine materials to be used and accomplish the work in accordance with appropriate methods and accepted trade practices.
- →Ensure site is clean of all debris and equipment upon completion of work.
- →Erect or suspend scaffolding in the performance of duties and be responsible for the proper care and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- →Mix all types of paints such as base coat paint, interior paints and finishing exterior paints.
- →Skilled in the application of paints in around door frames, window frames, walls as well as molding and base cover and in accenting areas.
- →Work Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm -11:30pm, 11:00pm -7:30am or Sunday to Thursday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm-11:30pm, 11:00pm -7:30am or Monday to Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm, 3:00pm - 11:30pm, 11:00pm - 7:30am.
