About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Innovation and Strategy Directorate located in Washington, DC. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10).

  • Typical duties include: Applying advanced concepts of operations research, statistics, and scientific methods and techniques in identifying and solving a variety of complex challenges germane to OFO's solution support.
  • Performing quantitative and qualitative analysis, data quality assurance, and developing graphics and reports based on the analysis and interpretation of formative and summative program statistics of operational and management program statistics and capabilities.
  • Serving as an expert analyst and advisor to management preparing and presenting technical briefings, white papers, executive summaries, and other communications necessary to achieve OFO goals and objectives.
  • Managing contractual efforts in support of operations research projects.
  • Examining and developing solutions for OFO senior leadership.
  • Serving as a liaison with other federal, state and local agencies and organizations for the purpose of exchanging information and collaborating in support of operations research efforts.
