Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, Mission Readiness Directorate located in Washington, DC.
What You'll Do
- →As an Operations Research Specialist you will collaborate with other government agencies and stakeholders, preparing reports and presentations for leadership, and supporting the implementation of process enhancements to improve mission readiness.
- →This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10).

- →Major duties for this position include but are not limited to: Analyzing complex business problems to identify inefficiencies, redundancies, and opportunities for improvement and conducting thorough shortage identification and mitigation efforts.
- →Developing comprehensive business cases for new initiatives, organizational changes, or technology adoption, presenting actionable insights to leadership and stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- →Conducting strategic workforce analysis to assess mission readiness, organizational performance, and strategic staffing needs.
- →Developing sophisticated models that rely heavily on statistical evaluations of diverse data inputs, establishing strong statistical relationships with defined regressions to forecast workforce requirements and pinpoint gaps across the organization.
