About the Role
The Oncology Genetics Navigator Nurse provides specialized coordination for Veterans receiving somatic and germline genetic testing. The nurse ensures timely navigation across oncology, genetics, and research workflows; supports molecular testing processes; guides Veterans through education and follow-up; collaborates with interdisciplinary teams; and assists research activities supporting precision oncology care.
What You'll Do
- →The Oncology Genetics Navigator Nurse provides specialized navigation, coordination, and research support for Veterans undergoing somatic and germline genetic testing within the cancer care continuum.
- →Quality Improvement & Program Advancement - Regularly evaluates molecular testing rates, identifies barriers within the medical center and network, and assists in establishing best practices for improved turnaround, access, and quality. - Pilots NOP-supported tools designed to enhance care navigation, improve Veterans' well-being, and advance high-reliability practices in oncology genomics.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
- ✓Applicants who refuse to be tested will be denied employment with VA.
- ✓Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
- ✓Subject to background/security investigation.
- ✓Selected applicants will be required to complete an online onboarding process.

- ✓Effective May 7, 2025, driver's licenses or state-issued identification cards that are not REAL ID compliant cannot be utilized as an acceptable form of identification for employment.
- ✓Must pass pre-employment physical examination.
- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
