About the Role
This job announcement will be used to fill the Nursing Assistant - Restorative Care vacancy assigned to the Community Living Center (CLC). The CLC provides care to short-stay and long-term care residents.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional VA Nursing Practice provides excellence in Veteran healthcare across a continuum of services and continuously improve nursing care for our nation's heroes in collaboration with our nursing colleagues.
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Performs restorative care modalities including Range of Motion (ROM), Passive ROM (PROM), splint or brace assistance, bed mobility, transfers, ambulation, dressing, grooming, eating, swallowing, amputation/prostheses care, communication, bowel program and bladder program.
- →Uses appropriate mobility, balance and strengthening exercises.
- →Utilizes task segmentation in assisting residents to complete ADL's Ensures residents use of proper shoes, eyeglasses and hearing aid if required by resident.
- →Maintains residents personal hygiene, including planning the task and gathering supplies, combing and/or styling hair, washing face and hands, brushing teeth, shaving, or applying make-up, oral hygiene, self manicure, and/or application of deodorant or powder.
- →Demonstrates knowledge and skills to care for residents at the end-of-life process Provides basic psychiatric nursing care procedures of listening, reassuring, motivating, encouraging, observing, and communicating.
- →Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.

Requirements
