About the Role
You will serve as a OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE (OHN) in the BUREAU OF MEDICINE AND SURGERY.
What You'll Do
- →You will develop and oversee enterprise-level Occupational Medicine (OM) policy for the Department of Navy (DON) and helps ensure the delivery of OM services to Navy and Marine Corps activties.
- →You will review, analyze and update current DON and Department of War (DOW) policies and develop new DON policies to address issues that arise.
- →You will prepare informational products, decision briefs, and presentations as needed to inform senior leaders of key Public Health (PH) issues.
- →You will provide technical medical consultant guidance when indicated on selected individual immunization-related Religious Accommodation Waivers.
- →You will coordinate with various non-DOW, U.S.
- →Government agencies to address problems that may arise.
Requirements
- ✓THERE IS NO SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE FOR THIS POSITION Applicants must possess a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required.
- ✓This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education(external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs(external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education(external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S.
- ✓Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained.
- ✓(Transcripts and copy of license are required at the time of application) LICENSURE For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination(external link).
- ✓In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
