About the Role
About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Nursing, Mother/Baby Unit at the Madigan Army Medical Center in JBLM, WA. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.
What You'll Do
- →Provide nursing care to low and high-risk obstetrical patients with their newborn infants and gynecologic/post-surgical patients.
- →This position performs the full range of professional nursing duties for antepartum, postpartum, newborn and gynecologic/post-surgical patients for all ages from infant to geriatric and support the military medical treatment facility.
- →Perform a variety of administrative and managerial duties as an extension and in support of the Chief Nurse Officer in Charge (CNOIC).
- →Provide comprehensive lactation support for patients opting to breastfeed, promotes alternative feeding methods in support of breastfeeding and provides family-centered educati0on and support.
- →Assess, intervene, and evaluate mother and infant according to standards of care and specific unit guidelines.
- →Perform or assist with invasive/non-invasive procedures to include collection of laboratory specimens and other samples as required.
- →Provide sufficient information to patient(s), parent(s), and/or guardian on: pre- and post-operative education, disease process and complications, medication administration.
