About the Role
About the Position: The position serves as the Nurse in Ambulatory Procedures Unit (APU)/Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) to include the Infusion Therapy Clinic and Intravenous Conscious Sedation Suite (IVCS) located within the Directorate of Surgical Services, Directorate of Nursing, U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa, Camp Foster, Japan. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Provide specialized professional nursing care to patients in the Ambulatory Procedure Unit/Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Intravenous Conscious Sedation Spite and Infusion Therapy Clinic .
- →Instruct/inform nursing team of major priorities in the care of specific patients, possible plans of treatment.
- →Identify high risk patients and directs staff by adjusting priorities appropriately and effectively in response to changing workload.
- →Observe patients changing condition to formulate and update plans of care consistent with recognized nursing standards and in accordance with prescribed medical treatment.
- →Communicate with attending staff providers in a timely manner for changes in patient condition and responses to interventions.
- →Manage patient/visitor/staff disturbances/complaints with tact and diplomacy.
- →Make referrals to the appropriate superior or act as an investigator when needed.
- →Adhere to and supports the guidelines of the directorates Continuous Process Improvement Program.
- →Reports administrative data logically and succinctly.
