About the Role
About the Position: This position is located in the Directorate of Nursing, Maternal-Child-Infant Nursing Department of the U.S. Naval Branch Clinic, Iwakuni, Japan. The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic nursing care to patients, both adolescents and adults, across a continuum. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
What You'll Do
- →Provides comprehensive professional nursing care to inpatient obstetrics and gynecology patients and their newborns with medical conditions ranging from routine care to those having complex complications.
- →Serves as subject matter expert and consultant in topics related to obstetric and gynecologic nursing care.
- →Serves as Charge Nurse on a rotational basis, making decisions regarding priorities for patient care for shift assignments.
- →Develops nursing care plans and procedures, coordinating with case management team, setting standards of care, prescribing special care and identifying specific nursing problems for all patients.
- →Administers medication after thorough medication orders and list review to verify any side effects, allergies, contraindications, and continued treatment needs with the patient.
- →Provides evidence-based education to patient, significant others, family members, and caregivers.
