About the Role
Responsible and accountable for all elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising the delivery of care to employees. Supports worker-centered occupational safety and health procedures while promoting worker health, monitoring and tracking employee health status and well-being, and assessing workplace safety from hazards and contaminants.
What You'll Do
- →Duties The Employee Occupational Health (EOH) Registered Nurse (RN) demonstrates leadership, experience, and creative approaches to the management of complex employee care.
- →Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Clinical Practice & Care Coordination Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care based on age-specific components.
- →Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines.
- →Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care focused on education, self-management, and customer satisfaction throughout the continuum of care.
- →Occupational Health & Workplace Safety Supports worker-centered occupational safety and health procedures.
- →Monitors and tracks the health status and well-being of employees.
- →Assesses workplace safety from hazards and contaminants in the workplace.
- →Interdisciplinary Collaboration & Leadership Influences care outcomes by collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and leading innovative process improvement initiatives.
- →Demonstrates sound decision-making, judgment, and excellent interpersonal skills.
- →Contributes to the development of care delivery models and environmental design, ensuring evidence-based, accessible, affordable, and equitable patient care.
- →Demonstrates performance and leadership broad enough to improve care for employees.
- →Quality Improvement & Outcomes Ensures compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, directives, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- →Responsible for documented outcomes at the program or service level; outcomes must be broad and complex and can be demonstrated at any organizational level within a facility.

Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
- ✓All applicants tentatively selected for VA employment in a testing designated position are subject to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment.

- ✓Participation in the seasonal influenza vaccination program is a requirement for all Department of Veterans Affairs Health Care Personnel (HCP).
