About the Role
About the Position: This position is located at Walter Reed national Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD in the Department of Surgery, Organ Transplant. Typical hours are 0700-1530. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Coordinate care for kidney and liver transplant patients.
- →Assess patient candidacy for transplantation evaluation based on patient records.
- →Educate patients and their families to assure understanding of treatment options.
- →Evaluate and present donor organ information to the physician.
- →Collect laboratory and diagnostic specimen, manage wounds and postoperative sites, and provide drain and catheter care.
- →Assist in scheduling and interpreting consults, laboratory, and radiology results.
