About the Role
This position is located at the Womack Army Medical Center (Dept. of Nursing PSYCHIATRIC UNIT) located at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Centrally located in the beautiful state of North Carolina, residents enjoy a temperate year-round climate and world-renowned colleges and universities. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. Advanced in hire may be authorized.
What You'll Do
- →Perform a comprehensive mental health nursing assessment and history to plan, provide and direct nursing care across the continuum of care.
- →Teach patient and family members regarding the disease process.
- →Utilize the nursing process to identify patient problems and generate nursing diagnoses.
- →Administer psychotropic and complex medications via various routes.
- →Identify pending crisis situations and handle appropriately.
- →Direct the work of Psychiatric Technicians, Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered nurses, students, and volunteers.
- →Develop and present classes related to psychiatric/mental health nursing and participate as an active member in classes that are sponsored by other members of the multidisciplinary team.
