About the Role
About the Position: This position is located in the Maternal Infant Nursing Department (MIND) in the Directorate of Nursing Services, Naval Hospital Twentynine Palms (NHTP), CA. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service.
What You'll Do
- →Perform procedures, treatments, and medication administration.
- →Renew medication orders after thorough medication list review and verification of any side effects, allergies, contraindications, and continued treatment needs with the patient in accordance with Service Component and local instructions.
- →Provide comprehensive professional nursing care to patients during labor and delivery in obstetrical wards.
- →Observe, monitors, and assesses patient's changing condition; recognizes, identifies, and interprets serious situations; undertakes preplanned emergency measures when provider/midwife is not immediately available.
- →Provide instructions to patient/significant other and/or family members/caregivers.
- →Work closely with provider and supervisory nurse, as well as nonprofessional personnel to establish a nursing care plan that complements the prescribed medical treatment and needs of the patient.
