About the Role

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

What You'll Do

  • This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until August 14, 2026.
  • The cut-off date for referral of eligible applications will be May 29, 2026.
  • Applications submitted after May 29, 2026, may not receive consideration.
  • This position serves as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) in the Nuclear Medicine Program, Diagnostic Services Patient Care Center at the James J.
  • Peters Bronx VA Medical Center.
  • Nuclear Medicine provides quality diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, including scans, blood cell labeling and thyroid uptakes.
  • All patient care provided in Nuclear Medicine is under the supervision of the Nuclear Medicine Physician and provided directly by a NMT.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist, GS-09 Assignments: Candidates at this grade level serve as staff NMTs at the journey level.
  • It is expected that they routinely and independently perform the full scope and complexity of these responsibilities and receive guidance from higher-level or supervisory staff members for only the most complex patients.

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S.
