You will serve as a NONDESTRUCTIVE TEST INSPECTOR LEADER in the Nondestructive Test Operations Branch, Nondestructive Test Division of the Quality Assurance Office of PORTSMOUTH NAVAL SHIPYARD.
What You'll Do
- →You will have to obtain and maintain NDT specialist certifications in accordance with the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (NDT).
- →You will obtain and maintain qualifications and certificates through periodic performance and written examinations by authorized NAVSEA representatives.
- →You will read and interpret complicated written technical material such as instructions, procedures, sketches, and blueprints.
- →You will determine when improper NDT and other requirements have been specified and communicate these observations.
- →You will independently perform complex nondestructive testing and analysis on complex and non-routine mechanical components, piping systems, and structural assemblies related to Naval surface ships, submarines, and nuclear propulsion plants.
- →You will inspect Nuclear Reactor Plant components and systems such as: coolant system, pressurized piping, pumps, valves, heat exchanger, steam ballast high-pressure vessels, hull integrity weld joints, and propulsion shafting.
- →You will participates in audits, submit reports and recommendations, and maintains files, charts and status reports on progress inspections/documents completed.
