About the Role
You will serve as a Non-medical Clinical Counselor in the Family Readiness Department of NAVAL STATION ROTA.
What You'll Do
- →You will provide direct services in the form of non-medical clinical counseling.
- →You will provide information and referral, education and training, primary prevention, counseling and advocacy to facilitate achieving operational readiness and personal and family self-sufficiency.
- →You will develop a specialized program of treatment using resources available and based upon accepted practice.
- →You will adhere to all general guidelines provided in the Fleet and Family Support Center basic mission, and works within the framework established by higher authority.
- →You will apply and remain within the boundaries of Navy policy and procedures in carrying out non-medical clinical services.
- →You will provide non-medical clinical counseling and case management services to individuals, couples, families and groups.
Requirements
- ✓Applicants must meet the following Basic Requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess either: 0101: Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
- ✓OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
- ✓OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field 0180: Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology.
- ✓These two specializations have additional educational requirements, as stated below: Clinical psychology: For positions at grades GS-11 and above, satisfactory completion of all the requirements for the doctoral degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology is required.
- ✓Counseling psychology: For positions at grades GS-9 and above, satisfactory completion of 2 full academic years of graduate study directly related to professional work in counseling psychology, or satisfactory completion in an accredited educational institution of all the requirements for a master's degree directly related to counseling psychology is required. 0185: Degree: social work.
- ✓Must fulfill all of the requirements for the master's degree in social work in a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
- ✓Master's degree with practicum: Applicants who complete all of the requirements for a master's degree in social work that included a practicum are eligible for GS-9.
- ✓Full and complete transcripts are required to verify that you meet the basic educational requirement.
- ✓ADDITIONAL INFORMATION ICTAP Applicants: To be considered well-qualified and exercise selection priority as an ICTAP candidate, displaced Federal employees must satisfy all qualification requirements for the position and receive a rating in the highly qualified category (score 85) or higher.
- ✓ICTAP candidates must provide copies of all of the following documentation at the time of application: 1) agency notice; 2) most recent performance appraisal; and 3) most recent SF-50 or notification of personnel action that includes position, grade level, and duty location.
- ✓Applicants who do not provide this documentation will not receive consideration as an ICTAP candidate.
