About the Role
NIST is seeking a Neutron Physicist to join the Neutron Physics Group. In this role, you will provide traceable calibrations for neutron sources to both external and internal customers. The primary objective is to improve customer interactions and ensure that calibration services meet the standards outlined in the NIST quality manual. This notice is issued under direct-hire authority to recruit new talent to occupations for which NIST has a severe shortage of candidates.
What You'll Do
- →As a Neutron Physicist, this role focuses on providing and maintaining calibration services.
- →The Candidate will: Conduct experimental work to carry out fundamental research in neutron physics and measurement.
- →Analyze and interpret experimental results related to neutron measurement techniques.
- →Contributes to the completion and future direction of large-scale technical projects within the group and division.
- →Collaborate with research groups, technical teams, and external experts to coordinate efforts and resolve complex challenges.

- ✓Transcripts must be submitted to validate that the education requirement has been met.

- ✓Use of foreign education for qualifications.
- ✓An accredited organization must evaluate education completed outside of the U.S. to ensure that it is comparable to education received in accredited institutions in the U.S.
