About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, U.S. Border Patrol, Houlton Sector, Mission Readiness Operations, located in Rangeley, ME. Additional selections may be made for other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

  • This Mission Support Specialist position allows you to use your knowledge and experience providing comprehensive advisory and technical services on practical organizational functions and work practices.

  • This position starts at a salary of $74,678.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $97,087.00 (GS-11, Step 10).

  • As a Mission Support Specialist, you will carry out a wide variety of mission support, workforce management, supply, inventory, fleet, budget, procurement, records management, payroll, travel, administrative research, logistics, and other program planning activities.
  • Typical work assignments include: Performing administrative services that are essential to office operations such as personnel, equipment, financial management, contracts, time and attendance, safety, logistics and records management.
  • Serving as the Local Property Officer (LPO) and being responsible for all property management functions.
  • Processing purchase requests and purchase orders, purchasing office supplies, equipment, services using a government purchaser card, while ensuring compliance with all purchasing procedures, laws, and policies.
  • Assisting employees with travel issues while serving as an alternate travel preparer tasked with reviewing, monitoring and maintaining all travel related responsibilities.
  • Assisting with the fleet card program to include performing audits, extracting reports, and reconciling invoices.
