The MSA serves as the Medical Support Assistant in the Radiology Service for the modalities of Computed Tomography (CT), General Diagnostic, Ultrasound, Bone Density, Fluoroscopy, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Vascular, and Nuclear Medicine. The Radiology Service is located in the main building at the Columbus Veterans Affairs Ambulatory Care Center.
What You'll Do
- →VA Careers - Medical Support Assistant: https://youtube.com/embed/EE9c4XkaELo Functions of Assigned Duties: The MSA will interface with a personal computer for the purpose of registering and scheduling and cancelling appointments, and monitoring progress of work queues.
- →The MSA prepares patients for exams by correctly instructing the patient with changing instructions and ·directing the patient to dressing; rooms: and appropriate waiting areas.
- →The MSA is responsible for greeting patients and skillfully answering a wide variety of topics that arise at the front desk.
- →The MSA confirms two patient identifiers and pertinent Radiology Order data such as laterality; reason for study aligning with the procedure name; review of lab results.
- →The MSA is familiar with time frames and special requirements for exams, i.e., contrast media, dietary preparation, laboratory testing, required spacing of sequential exams ordered with contrast.
- →The MSA seeks guidance for policy matters before acting when questions arise.
- →The MSA will upload and burn Computerized Disks used for patient care according to protocol.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Telework: Not Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
- →Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)
