The Dayton, Ohio Veterans Affairs Medical Center is recruiting for well-qualified Medical Support Assistants (Advanced), within the Patient Business Service. The A/MSA is responsible for performing a variety of technical support duties that facilitate the work of physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nursing assistants, and other members of the medical facility who provide direct patient care.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include, but are not limited to: utilizes knowledge of ED procedures and processes to accurately schedule visits in accordance with existing procedures and guidelines.
- →Prints armbands and labels for patients. uses knowledge of ED services and procedure guidelines to clearly inform our customers (orally or in writing) or be able to direct inquiries regarding services to the appropriate personnel for resolution.
- →This includes independently utilizing reference sources, decision making, and empowering the team to collaborate and resolve problems within a complex systems environment.
- →The incumbent will assist in the unit orientation of the clinical staff on administrative matters, including, but not limited to, VA regulations, policies, and procedures.
- →Utilizes such programs and databases to make appointments in a clinical setting.
- →Maintains patient confidentiality with information, per HIPAA requirements.
- →Complies with Employee Education requirements by completing mandatory annual assignments through the TMS and complies with any other training or education requirements as determined by the supervisor. work in a proficient and self-directed manner to accomplish a wide variety of tasks.
- →The A/MSA can independently manage position responsibilities with little supervision as well as set priorities and deadlines adjusting the flow and sequencing of the work to meet team and patient needs.
- →Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 1530- midnight to include some weekends/ holidays.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
- →Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement) Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not authorized
