About the Role
The incumbent is either an integral part of a large Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Department or the Rehabilitation and Extended Care Department within the Minneapolis VAHCS. This is a Complexity Level 1 Facility. S/he performs administrative support work in connection with the care and treatment given to patients in the Rec and/or PM&R Department.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties of this position are, but not limited to: Sets and adjusts short-term priorities.
- →Assures timely accomplishment of the workload.
- →Performs a variety of administrative functions which support clinic/program operations including but not limited receiving/relaying incoming and outgoing telephone messages, receiving and directing patients and visitors, answering routine inquiries, scheduling appointments, managing consults, and maintaining supplies.
- →Promotes team building and improves business practices.
- →Collects and compiles information as needed to carry out the work of the clinic, program or department.
- →Follows established clinic and appointment scheduling business rules including but not limited to consultations, scheduling, electronic wait lists, recall reminder, encounter action required reports, insurance capture, AudioCare, and missed opportunities.
- →Routinely and timely shares pertinent information.
- →Routinely accepts other ideas and integrates appropriate ones into practice.
- →Routinely uses email communication as well as verbal communication in an appropriate manner.
- →Refers all questions requiring immediate medical attention to appropriate health care team member.
- →Fields and resolves customer complaints.
- →Refers more serious unresolved complaints to a higher-level supervisor Work Schedule: Administrative Days Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- →When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of higher or unique qualifications or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
