This position is being filled under a stream-lined hiring authority, Title 21 of the United States Code (21 US Code 379d-3a) as amended by the 21st Century Cures Act of 2016, section 3072 and the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023, Section 3624. The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment and be paid under the provisions of this authority. This position is being recruited based on the Title 21 Pay, Table 2, Band C (GS 13 equivalent).
What You'll Do
- →Applies complex statistical procedures and comprehensive biomedical knowledge in performing reviews and evaluations.
- →Develops and executes a variety of complex mathematical and statistical methods to solve unique problems and questions which have limited precedents.
- →Consults with scientists within the Center, other government agencies, international entities, academia, and/or industry to exchange statistical information.
- →Applies complex biomedical knowledge to research design and statistical analyses.
- →Plans and designs mathematical reseach to develop new analytical techniques when existing techniques are inadequate for handling a specific problem.
- →Analyzes data to determine the safety and/or effectiveness of animal drugs, foods, and devices, which may involve consideration of data from a variety of sources.
- →Designs advanced mathematical and statistical methods, conducts significant and unprecedented analyses that often impact other functional areas within the Office and Center.
- →Prepares written reviews and advises on scientific protocols and findings of studies submitted to the Agency by the regulated industry.
- →Leads innovative efforts in the new animal drugs, foods, and devices approval process by researching various applications of statistical methods.
