About the Role
This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: This position is aboard a diesel Hopper Dredge and responsibilities include performing preventative maintenance, repair or installation assignments and work projects.
What You'll Do
- →Make scheduled and special operational checks of equipment to include switchboards, rheostats, relays, circuit breakers voltage regulators, dredge pump speed control system, telemotor steering system, engine order telegraph, etc.
- →Observe gauges, pistons, notes unusual conditions (heating, oil or grease loss, loose fittings, broken or inoperative units, etc.) and makes repairs or adjustments as required.
- →Make periodic or special preventative maintenance checks of units.
- →Listen, dismantles, observes, replaces scheduled or worn elements, lubricates, packs, repairs, etc., as required.
- →Install replacement or new equipment (floodlights, signals, fixtures, etc.) Repair, or participates in the repair, of any electrical unit on board (motors, pumps, generators, control panels, special equipment, etc.) Itemize materials and parts used.
- →Changes instrument charts.
