About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations International Operations and Advisory Directorate (IOAD), Mission Support Division, Workforce Management Branch. The location is negotiable after selection. Selectee must reside within 50 miles of a CBP facility. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

What You'll Do

  • In this position, you will act as a Senior Advisor to management assessing the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of human capital efforts resolving complex problems related to position management, staffing and placement, performance management, awards, and worker's compensation for a Field Office or large Port of Entry.
  • This position starts at a salary of $106,437.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $138,370.00 (GS-13, Step 10).
  • Duties include: Advising on changes to organizational structures, organizational charts, and mission and function statements implementing reorganizations, or changes in program administration, to reduce or eliminate functional overlap among the assigned programs.
  • Providing senior leaders with analytical insight into the Table of Organization (T/O) for Office of Field Operations (OFO).
  • Monitoring encumbered and vacant positions to ensure OFO positions' data elements are accurately recorded and updated.
  • Creating and assembling documents for OFO organizational change request (OCR) packages, to include analysis and justification of structural changes, mission and functional statements, and program/function administration.
  • Coordinating with the CBP Hiring Center resolving processing, recruitment, reporting, and other staffing issues.

Requirements
