The Management & Program Analysis is a major position for the Medicine Service Line at WJB Dorn Veterans Medical Center in Columbia SC. Medicine Service consists of the following service departments: Cardiology, Endocrinology, Dermatology, Nephrology, Hematology-Oncology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Pulmonary/Critical Care, Rheumatology, Inpatient service, Respiratory Therapy, Home Oxygen, Sleep Medicine, and Neurology.
What You'll Do
- →Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →Interprets administrative policies, developing and implementing local policies or procedures, defining administrative requirements, and/or providing advice to Service Line leadership on related issues.
- →Serves as the principal advisor to the service line on all administrative management matters associated with programs and operations.
- →Assists service line leadership with planning and program and management analysis.
- →Responsibilities include management improvement, productivity improvement, and management controls.
- →Helps set the parameters for improvements and ensures necessary training is provided to all staff.
- →Responsible for budget management and related resource allocation decisions within the Service Line, including, but not limited to, FTEE, hours of duty, salary budget, equipment, budget, overtime, space utilization, maintenance contracts, etc., following directions from the Administrative Officer, Medicine Service, and the Service Line Leadership.
- →Serves as supervisor of administrative positions within the Medicine Service Line.
- →Hears grievances as second level supervisor, reviews recommendations for hiring, promotion, and adverse actions made by subordinate supervisors.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm Telework: This position is not authorized for telework.
