This position serves the Surgical Services and Clinical Resource Hub (CRH), acts as the senior administrator within the service, providing executive-level administrative leadership across three major campuses (West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain, Brockton) and five (5) Community-Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs), serving as a primary referral center for Veterans Integrated Service Networks (VISN) One (1) and select national surgical programs.
What You'll Do
- →Enables localized care to be supplemented by regional resources, focusing on improving accessibility through efficient administrative management of personnel and technology.
- →Acts as a liaison with patients to facilitate their travel and coordinate after-care at their home facilities.
- →Governs their own hubs, focusing on improving patient access and reducing reliance on community care.
- →Participates actively in various governance forums, including daily operational huddles, weekly resource/scheduling meetings, monthly governance sessions, and quarterly strategic/performance reviews within the facility, VISN, and nationally.
- →Serves as the principal administrator for the CRH, overseeing initiatives such as Tele-Ocular Health, transplant coordination, and the Administrative Operations Academy for VISN 1.
- →Develops and executes fiscal management functions across all surgical specialties, including budget formulation and execution, payroll oversight, supply chain management, space utilization, and inventory management; analyzes budget requirements and ensures fiscal management aligns with generally accepted accounting practices and Veterans Affairs (VA) financial policy.
- →Manages the process for employee onboarding, credentialing, access, and compliance for thousands of trainees annually, ensuring emergency staffing readiness, and aligning academic affiliate rotations with supervision requirements to prevent service gaps and maintain accreditation compliance.
- →Manages the Patient scheduling and flow, medical records management, staffing of both the administrative staff and clinical providers, performance monitoring, Compliance and Risk management, Supply Chain and Facility Maintenance, and Quality Improvement Initiatives.
- →Oversees the maintenance of the Service staffing list, updating provider profiles, coordinating with the Credentialing department, performing necessary audits, and participating in site inspections Performs other related duties as assigned.
