With the primary responsibility as Veterans Equitable Resources Allocation (VERA) Coordinator for the VERA Program, the Management and Program Analyst provides operational support and expertise to VHSO leadership. Using specialized knowledge and working under broadly delegated authority, the Program Analyst develops or modifies objectives and boundaries of assignment as indicated, and plays a critical, influential role in organizational performance and excellence.
What You'll Do
- →Major duties include, but not limited to: Provides guidance and recommendations to executive leadership, Service Chiefs, and Program Managers on implementing, managing, and evaluating VERA oversight programs.
- →Serves as principal management advisor and technical authority to senior leadership on complex internal and external VERA program issues, including interpreting guidelines and formulating related policies.
- →Formulates and implements VERA program plans in collaboration with leadership to ensure Health Care System needs are met effectively and efficiently.
- →Establishes program goals, identifies solvable administrative problems related to VERA at the facility level, and demonstrates to operating service chiefs the benefits of utilizing VERA Coordinator services.
- →Independently conducts special organizational studies on workflow operations and forecasts manpower, equipment, and space needs critical to managing the facility's VERA Program.
- →Applies thorough knowledge of the VERA model, health care delivery systems, and service organization to analyze and evaluate complex data from across the Health Care System.
- →Explores new channels of inquiry, reviews how organizational elements interact within the HCS, determines optimal ways to organize activities, and recommends courses of action or change.
- →Assesses when operating activities lose effectiveness, studies the situation, designs new systems when necessary, and prepares to implement those redesigned processes within the HCS.
- →Improves the effectiveness of program operations by establishing appropriate organizational structures and implementing efficient work methods and procedures that optimize use of manpower, funds, and equipment.
- →Studies resource needs, working conditions, and procedures to identify areas requiring review, advise management on implications and options, and design study methodologies that quickly and economically obtain necessary facts across programs and service lines.
- →Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (Subject to change based on the needs of the Agency).
- →Telework: This position may be authorized for telework.
