About the Role

This position is located in the Air Traffic Organization's Service Center. The incumbent is a Senior Analyst to the Team Manager and applies experience and expert knowledge of ATO programs, along with knowledge of analytical and investigative techniques, to analyze operational challenges, assess planned and potential new solutions, and recommend solutions. This work is critical to the safety of the NAS.

What You'll Do

  • The incumbent is a recognized subject matter expert in a specialized area and provides leadership for highly complex and challenging activities under the minimal direction of a manager or executive.
  • Identifies problems and devises appropriate courses of action acceptable to management officials, and assures effective follow-through within program responsibilities to accomplish desired improvements.
  • Coordinates and provides support and advice for multiple projects and programs.
  • Incumbent creates and maintains channels of communication by interfacing with key stakeholders and a wide range of other external groups.
  • Explains, advocates, and expresses information and ideas in a convincing manner to negotiate with groups individuals internal and external to the Service Center.
  • Develops an expansive professional network with other organizations and identifies the internal and external issues that impact the work of the Resource Support Team.
  • Broad policies and objectives provide general guidance for addressing issues but often require the development of new approaches.
  • Often asked to develop new policies, procedures, and approaches that take into consideration FAA policies, Government-wide rules and regulations, and external concerns.
  • May create new solutions and policy interpretations as situations require.
  • Incumbent performs a variety of special and/or sensitive assignments independently or with the Team Manager; involving research, analysis, and development of written materials, and coordination of substantive program issues and activities.
  • Incumbent applies knowledge of FAA policies and objectives to identify, define, and organize work for multiple work activities.
  • Serves as an advisor within assigned program area.
  • Provides advice, counsel and instruction on work matters.
  • Identifies potential issues and proposes recommendations for preventive action.
