About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Field Operations, Tucson Field Office, Area Port of Nogales, Nogales Port of Entry.

What You'll Do

  • You will serve as a Management and Program Analyst, with primary responsibilities as the Port's Injury Compensation Coordinator (ICC).
  • In this critical role, the you will oversee the comprehensive Workers' Compensation Program, performing initial claim processing, providing guidance to employees and management on Federal Employees' Compensation Act (FECA) requirements, and collaborating with the Department of Labor to ensure proper case management and cost containment.
  • This position starts at a salary of $76,095.00 (GS-11, Step 1) to $98,928.00 (GS-11, Step 10) Typical work duties include: Supporting personnel programs that contribute to workforce management initiatives at the Port, with a focus on the Performance Management Program.
  • Assisting in monitoring information systems to ensure compliance with performance management requirements and timelines.
  • Providing technical assistance and guidance to field office personnel on performance-related matters and supporting the preparation of senior executive service performance plans and appraisals.
  • Working with port leadership on issues involving Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for bargaining and non-bargaining unit employees, ensuring adherence to policies.
  • Coordinating with the field office to integrate performance improvement efforts with other workforce management resources processes.
