About the Role

This position is in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information and Technology (OIT), Office of the Chief of Staff (OCoS), serving as a Management and Program Analyst providing expert management and program analysis services to senior executive leadership.

What You'll Do

  • Major Duties: Independently plans and carries out projects, resolving most differences with management and/or stakeholders.
  • Uses judgment and discretion in determining intent; interprets/revises existing policy and regulatory guidance for use by others (analysts, line managers, contractors).
  • Analyzes interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of mission-oriented programs; develops detailed plans/criteria despite conflicting goals.
  • Isolates and defines unknown conditions, resolves critical problems, and develops new solutions for time-sensitive, often controversial issues (performance reports, decision papers, briefings, Congressional responses).
  • Reviews correspondence for technical and substantive compliance with management and Department policy, analyzing the most controversial/politically sensitive matters.
  • Reviews all correspondence prepared for OIT Leadership's signature, ensuring consistency with Department policy and assessing impact on other OIT goals.
  • Independently carries projects through to conclusion; completed work relied upon for soundness, accuracy, and adequacy of technical detail with minimal review.
  • This is a non-bargaining unit position.

  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00am - 4:00pm; Tour of duty may be subject to change based on organizational needs.
