About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, USBP Headquarters, Mission Support Directorate, Human Capital and Training Division, in Ashburn, VA. This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 50 applications have been received, whichever happens first. What You'll Do

  • In this position, you will serve as a senior analyst and advisor in USBP's Mission Readiness Operations Directorate, leading complex qualitative and quantitative assessments of programs and management processes and directing major administrative initiatives.
  • This work strengthens USBP & CBP mission readiness by improving operational efficiency, resource planning, and policy alignment, ensuring leadership has accurate, timely analysis to execute DHS priorities.
  • This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10) GS Salary: Visit this link to view the locality pay tables by geographic area.

  • As a Management and Program Analyst, you will be responsible for directing, implementing, coordinating, and overseeing a major segment of Mission Readiness Operations Directorate's administrative program.
  • Typical duties will include: Developing and evaluating policies and program objectives as well as advising managers and providing technical assistance to headquarters and field offices.
  • Coordinating and leading team studies; designing, implementing, and monitoring management information and planning control systems; assessing legislative impacts and negotiating adoption of recommendations.
  • Preparing and delivering briefings, presentations, and planning documents; directing review of submissions for substance and compliance; issuing and maintaining final planning and control documents.
  • Analyzing effects of new or proposed legislation, executive orders, and directives; preparing impact statements and recommendations; representing the agency and supporting executive data calls to OMB, GAO, DHS, and Congress.
