About the Role

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Finance, Washington, DC. This announcement will be open for 5 business days OR until the first 75 applications have been received, whichever happens first. What You'll Do

  • This position is located within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Finance (OF), Financial Policy Division.
  • The Office of Finance secures and safeguards financial resources to enable CBP's mission.
  • The incumbent serves as an analyst, supporting OF management by applying qualitative and quantitative methods to assist in the development, evaluation, and improvement of financial policies, contributing to program operations and the implementation of data-driven systems that advance CBP's mission and strategic objectives.
  • This position starts at a salary of $121,785.00 (GS-13, Step 1) to $158,322.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $158,322 (GS-13 Step 10).

  • Supporting, researching and analyzing existing and emerging finance-related policies and processes based on analysis of current and emerging issues, ensuring alignment with mission objectives.
  • Collaborating with Office of Finance staff and financial leadership to address operational needs.
  • Ensuring compliance with law, rules, and mandates from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), DHS and the Department of Treasury.
  • Assisting in developing plans and criteria for implementing and maintaining the CBP Conference Approval Program and the OF Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) Portal to assist in ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and CBP and policies.
