What You'll Do
- →Specific duties include: Analyzes the productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of program operations and assists management staff in developing resolutions to problems in the staffing, effectiveness, and efficiency of the Veterans Service Center.
- →Coordinates realignment of services, changes in organizational structure, and methods of operations to promote efficient claims/customer service.
- →Interprets policies, rules, regulations, and major operating procedures to personnel of the office with respect to administrative policy and procedural questions.
- →Serves as a liaison between VBA District Offices and the RO, coordinating and facilitating initiatives that require team cooperation and action.
- →Handles correspondence and is privy to sensitive employee and labor relations issues such as local negotiations, grievance responses, and disciplinary/performance action drafts and files.
- →Collects and analyzes data for preparation of budget estimates concerning overtime, travel, and division expendable supplies.
- →Serves as the primary point of contact on daily budget and overtime tracking, leave and payroll administration, personnel action processing and interaction with the Human Resources Management division.
- →Advises the Veterans Service Center Manager (VSCM) on VBA policy regarding compensation claims processing, to ensure local policy is in-line with national guidance.
- →Coordinates the work of the "front office staff" to the end that the manager is free from administrative details and able to concentrate totally on leadership of the division.
- →Decides the methodologies to use in achieving work goals and objectives, and in determining other management strategies Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met.
- →Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
- →The grade progression for this position is GS-11 target GS-12.
- →Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Available Telework: Available Virtual: This is not a virtual position.
