This position is located at the Calverton National Cemetery in Calverton, New York.
What You'll Do
- →The Cemetery Operations Analyst position is responsible for providing the Cemetery Director and district leadership with expert, data-driven insights to support decision-making and enhance operational efficiency.
- →The incumbent conducts comprehensive studies involving data collection and analysis to evaluate the effectiveness of cemetery operations, identify areas for improvement, and recommend more efficient procedures and workflows.
- →This includes performing management audits, surveys, and systematic reviews to ensure policies and practices are effectively implemented.
- →The analyst provides vital staff assistance in developing and implementing procedural, operational, and organizational changes, while also analyzing administrative and field activities, workload data, resource utilization, productivity metrics, and workflow processes.
- →Additionally, the role involves assisting in budget development, equipment planning, and facilities condition assessments.
- →The analyst studies and recommends modifications to work methods in response to technological advances, legislative changes, or program objectives.
- →As part of continuous improvement efforts, the incumbent will work toward achieving Lean Green Belt certification to foster a culture of Lean thinking and process improvement.
- →The position also entails collecting, organizing, and tracking data to support cemetery programs, preparing detailed reports and visual presentations, and ensuring data accuracy and integrity.
- →The analyst reviews and analyzes reports and statistical information to identify trends and outliers, providing actionable recommendations.
- →They develop and automate report generation methods, utilize various software tools for data visualization, and prepare comprehensive written analyses to inform management decisions, ensuring the cemetery's operations are efficient, effective, and aligned with organizational goals.
- →Performs public outreach as needed.
- →Work schedule: Required to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
- →May include occasional weekends.
- →Due to the mission of the National Cemetery, the cemetery cannot be closed for more than 2 consecutive days at any given time.
