About the Role
This position is located in a National Park Service Unit. Performs simple and routine work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, and other related trades.
What You'll Do
- →At the full performance level (WG-05) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds.
- →Perform minor plumbing repairs of limited difficulty such as tightening or replacing in-kind fittings and fixtures.
- →Perform minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters.
- →Construct, install, repair and replace such items as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets.
- →Perform routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, to include cleaning restrooms, and making minor repairs as needed.
- →Receive, unload and process incoming shipments according to established procedures, and report discrepancies and damage to others responsible for such items.
- →May perform other duties such as painting, masonry work, roofing, welding, or assisting higher grade workers with maintenance of utility systems in the facility.
- →Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites.
Requirements
- ✓Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
