This position is located in Crater Lake National Park in the Facilities branch. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will work 25 pay periods and you will be in a non-pay status for the remainder of the year. This non-pay period will occur from approximately 12/20 to 1/2.
What You'll Do
- →Utilize a variety of materials, tools, and equipment associated with the repair and maintenance of structures and grounds.
- →Perform minor plumbing repairs of limited difficulty such as tightening or replacing in-kind fittings and fixtures.
- →Perform minor carpentry repairs of limited difficulty to buildings and quarters.
- →Construct, install, repair and replace such items as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim and cabinets.
- →Perform routine maintenance at different sites and visitor facilities, to include cleaning restrooms, and making minor repairs as needed.
- →Receive, unload and process incoming shipments according established procedures, and report discrepancies and damage to others responsible for such items.
- →May perform other duties such as painting equipment, masonry work, roofing, welding or assisting higher grade worker with maintenance of utility systems in the facility.
- →Operate a light truck to pick up supplies and to transport materials to and from work sites.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship required.
- ✓Appointment subject to background investigation and favorable adjudication.
- ✓Meet Selective Service Registration Act requirement for males Selectee will be required to participate in the Direct Deposit Electronics Funds Transfer Program.
- ✓You will be required to operate a government (or private) motor vehicle as part of your official duties; a valid driver's license is required.
- ✓You will be required to submit a Motor Vehicle Operator's License and Driving Record.
- ✓You must also submit (within a State sealed envelope or submitted directly by the State authorities), and at your own expense, all certified driving records from all States that disclose all valid driver's licenses, whether current or past, possessed by you.
- ✓This will be done after your entry on duty.
- ✓You may be required to complete training and operate a four-wheel drive vehicle.
- ✓You will be required to wear a uniform and comply with the National Park Service uniform standards.
- ✓A uniform allowance will be provided.
- ✓You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work.
