About the position: This position will be assigned to the Westwind Inn (Lodging) at Travis Air Force Base, CA. Physical Effort: Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs. and over 40 lbs. with assistance. Eligible to use base facilities such as; Base Exchange (BX), Gym, Outdoor Rec, Library, Marina, Golf Course, Bowling Center, and the Arts & Crafts Center.Tuition Assistance after one year.
What You'll Do
- →Inspects and performs maintenance and minor repair on television sets, DVD/video players, refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, vacuum cleaners, and other electrical equipment and components.
- →Makes minor electrical repairs by replacing fixtures, switches, sockets, stove burners, electrical cords, and bulbs and performs minor maintenance on furniture.
- →Performs minor plumbing duties to include unclogging drains, toilets, sinks, showers, etc.
- →Use hand and power tools such as drills, power saws, routers, standard hand tools, straight edge, chalk line, tapes, caulking items, pipe wrenches, rollers, putty knife, etc.
- →Paints indoor and outdoor surfaces to include walls, floors, doors, and door frames.
- →Prepares surfaces to be painted by scraping, wire brushing, masking, spackling, and sanding surfaces.
- →Maintains written records of maintenance and all inspections performed for local requirements.
- →Performs routine inspection and minor maintenance on lodging vehicles to include oil changes, battery checks, and condition of breaks, filling tanks with gasoline, checking fluid levels, hoses, and filters, changing fan belts, and replacing lights.
- →Drives vehicles to various locations both on and off base to transport supplies and equipment.
