This vacancy is for a WS-4749-10, Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor located in the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, BASE KETCHIKAN FACILITIES ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT -F in KETCHIKAN, Alaska.
What You'll Do
- →You will serve as a Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor and be responsible for managing the day to day facilities repair work at Base Ketchikan and at times other CG facilities outside the base location.
- →Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team.
- →Typical work assignments include: Supervising, coordinating, and inspecting work of subordinates.
- →Estimating labor hours required by various trades, material costs, and equipment requirements for projects ranging in scale from minor repairs to large facilities repair projects.
- →Establishing deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and coordinates projects with other supervisors, with other CG organizations and customers, and with subcontractors.
- →Monitoring projects and adjusting team rosters to most efficiently accomplish the work and maintain a balanced workload.
- →Reviewing of utility bills, ordering new energy efficient products and/or engagement with local utility companies to reduce usage.
