About the Position: This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing equipment and building materials in various trades such as carpentry, painting, sheet metal, roofing, masonry and tile setting. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
What You'll Do
- →Operate a wide variety of powered equipment and hand tools.
- →Assemble items with a variety of joining techniques such as miters, rabbets, dados, and mortise and tenon.
- →Use wood, metal, and various composite materials when installing or replacing interior partitions, flooring, panels, suspended ceilings, counter tops, and moldings.
- →Interpret drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine the layout and work sequences and material requirements.
- →Apply coating materials with any of the accepted trade devices including those designed to give special effects such as brushes, rollers, and spray guns.
- →Prepare surfaces by methods such as smoothing with abrasive compounds, pumice and sandpaper, filling, shaping, and leveling with metal and synthetic resins, plastics, and patching compounds.
