What You'll Do

  • Assists supervisor by leading and directing subordinates, answering questions, passing on instructions, resolving problems which arise, training new employees, and ensuring the smooth operation of the facility.
  • Responsible for distributing and assigning work primarily on a day-to-day or project-to-project basis.
  • Responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed by the subordinate work force.
  • Motivates employees and encourages training, advancement and continued education.
  • Using accepted trade methods, and techniques, performs journeyman work involving a variety of trades.
  • Constructs, alters, repairs, or modifies items and structures as assigned.
  • Plans and completes work assignments from initial layout to final assembly.
  • Reads, interprets and applies building plans, blueprints, specifications, sketches, and building codes.
  • Computes measurements and makes adjustments to incomplete blueprints, sketches, and work orders to ensure accuracy of fit and finished appearance.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
