About the Role
The Maintenance inspector is responsible for making suggestions and recommendations on changes in tasks and techniques of Preventive Maintenance Inspection Standards to meet operating requirements of equipment at this medical center. This could involve changes in frequencies and checkpoints. Is responsible for conducting his work in a safe manner and to prevent injury to others in the area.
What You'll Do
- →Duties include but are not limited to: Inspects and makes adjustments and repairs on various types of Building Service Equipment and Systems.
- →Includes: air handling units; pumps; air compressors; generators, elevators, lifts, electric motors and controls; bathroom fixtures, exhaust fans; sump pumps; steam condensate and vacuum pumps; heating equipment; lighting, sprinkler, and medical air and vacuum systems; hydraulic and pneumatic door systems, etc.
- →Inspection duties include all tasks listed in Preventive Maintenance Inspection Standards, Joint Commission regulation, VAMC regulations, Construction Standards, and local building codes.
- →Inspects and makes adjustments and repairs on all classes of Personal Property valued at $500 or more that is electrically or mechanically operated.
- →Includes: Dietetic, Engineering, and Environmental Management equipment; certain technical medical equipment, etc.
- →Inspection duties include all tasks required by Preventive Maintenance Standards.
- →Performs routine greasing and oiling of all major types of equipment in accordance with VA regulations and manufacturers' recommendations.
- →Reports any malfunctions detected in equipment being serviced.
- →Assigns inspection schedules and preventive maintenance protocols to all equipment belonging to the Electrical/Electronic Equipment Unit.
- →Reviews inspections and protocol requirements on an annual basis.
- →All other duties as assigned.
- →Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Multiple Shifts : 0630A.M.-15:00,P.M., 07:00A.M.-15:30P.M.. and or 07:30 A.M.-15:30P.M..
- →Position Description Title/PD#: Maintenance Inspector/PD00795A Physical Requirements: Must be able to crawl, stoop, climb to heights of approximately 30 feet, bend, lift over 30 lbs., and work in close places where necessary to make adequate inspections.
Requirements
- ✓Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
