What You'll Do

  • What to Expect Serves as assistant to a higher grade maintenance worker/mechanic in maintaining equipment and facilities.
  • Assists in the performance of one or more trade practices associated with occupations such as mechanic, carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and other related trades.
  • Such assignments may include but not be limited to: general maintenance, repair and/or alterations to such items as: changing fuel filters, replacing fuel station nozzles/hoses, panels, doors, floors, floor covering, walls, ceiling, windows, electrical switches, receptacles and light fixtures.
  • Assists in performing repair of recreation/retail equipment and appliances and other related maintenance and/or custodial duties.
  • Performs landscaping, cleaning, trash pickup/removal, power washing and small fixture delivery and pickup for retail sites typically within a team and occasionally independently.
  • Replaces and places signage and communications as directed.
  • Able to use a computer to enter facilities work tickets.
  • Drives motor vehicles to and from work sites, warehouses, and dumps.
  • Will interact with vendors, customers, Active Duty Military, spouses and dependents.
  • Basic level of professionalism is required.
  • May be assigned to any Retail facility on a temporary or permanent basis as needed.
  • May be required to work a fluctuating work schedule to complete the mission, to include nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to receive and maintain Environment Hazard material disposal certification.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
