- →VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Advanced Clinical Care Provides a full range of nursing care for Veterans with complex medical, cognitive, behavioral, or chronic conditions.
- →Recognizes subtle clinical changes and initiates timely responses.
- →Performs advanced clinical tasks, including: Wound care (complex dressings under RN/provider delegation).
- →Catheter care and identification of catheter-related complications.
- →Enteral feeding administration and monitoring.
- →Tracheostomy care assistance (facility-specific).
- →Oxygen therapy and respiratory support within the LVN scope of practice.
- →Conducts focused assessments, documents findings, and determines when results require prompt RN/provider review.
- →Care Planning & Prioritization Participates in planning nursing care for a group of residents using established procedures and clinical judgment.
- →Provides resident-specific data and identifies effective or ineffective interventions.
- →Recommends modifications to care plans in response to clinical or behavioral changes.
- →Prioritizes nursing care based on resident needs and changing conditions.
- →Medication Administration Administers medications safely using the Bar Code Medication Administration (BCMA) system, including oral, topical, injectable, inhaled, and certain IV-related tasks within the LVN scope of practice.
