About the Role
This job announcement will be used to fill a vacancy in the Chillicothe VA Medical center, Hopewell House - Long Stay Dementia unit. This position requires flexibility in schedule and assignment as the facility conducts 24/7 operation.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to: Performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, positive customer service and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran.
- →Maintains acceptable standards of practice within a health care setting under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- →Communicates and treats customers (patients, visitors, volunteers, and all Medical Center staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
- →Provides care and/or services appropriate to the age of the patients being served, and which is appropriate to the cognitive; emotional, and chronological maturation of the patient.
- →Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA guidelines.
- →Assists clients to plan for anticipated changes in life, to recognize the risk factors related to health, and to focus on strengths rather than Complies with all mandated annual review requirements, rotate to clinical areas as assigned and take responsibility for attending in- services and continuing education.

- →Work Schedule: Day Shift - 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and/or 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. rotating to evening shift - 3:30 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. and/or 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 a.m., 3-6 days a month, with rotating weekends and holidays.
- →Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year).
- →Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
