About the Role
This job announcement will be used to fill a vacancy on the inpatient Mental Health unit. The Mental Health LPN supports the care in the Residential Rehabilitation and Inpatient Mental Health settings. This position requires flexibility in schedule and assignment as the facility conducts 24/7 operation.
What You'll Do
- →Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but are not limited to: Leads groups in the care area to support the recovery and rehabilitation of the Veteran population.
- →Provides monitor of the Veteran population as ordered by the provider to include one to one observation when needed Performs assigned duties in a manner that promotes quality health care, positive customer service and the maintenance of an environment committed to serving the veteran.
- →Maintains acceptable standards of practice within a health care setting under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse or physician.
- →Communicates and treats customers (patients, visitors, volunteers, and all Medical Center staff) in a courteous, tactful, and respectful manner.
- →Provides care and/or services appropriate to the age of the patients being served, and which is appropriate to the cognitive; emotional, and chronological maturation of the patient.
- →Protects printed and electronic files containing sensitive data in accordance with the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, federal regulations, VA statutes and policy, and VHA guidelines.
- →Complies with all mandated annual review requirements, rotate to clinical areas as assigned and take responsibility for attending in- services and continuing education.

- →Work Schedule: Night Shift - 11:30 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. and/or 11:30 p.m. to 12:00 p.m., with rotating weekends and holidays.
- →Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year).
- →Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
- →Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.
- →Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.
