About the Role
Join the Iowa City VA Health Care System as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) within Cardiology! This LPN delivers advanced practical nursing support for complex cardiac patients. This role provides specialized cardiac care, performs EKGs and cardiology-specific procedures, and collaborates closely with providers to ensure safe, high-quality heart-focused Veteran care.
What You'll Do
- →VA Careers - Licensed Practical Nurse: https://youtube.com/embed/Ae85IP1Oiz4 Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional Duties include but not limited to: Provide specialized cardiac nursing care in inpatient and outpatient settings, contributing to assessment and treatment plan development.
- →Assist RNs and providers by prioritizing patient needs, monitoring subtle condition changes, and accurately documenting care.
- →Administer prescribed medications and treatments, monitor for reactions, and initiate appropriate interventions.
- →Perform complex diagnostic or therapeutic activities that support the healthcare team.
- →Conduct patient interviews, gather cardiac and medical history, and support healthy lifestyle education.
- →Coordinate all activities concerning the CT angiogram process.
- →Serve as a resource, role model, and mentor to staff, supporting complex procedures and care processes.
- →Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year) Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior [work experience] or military service experience.
