What You'll Do
- →Incumbent assists in a variety of technical and specialized clerical tasks to support library work such as acquiring, processing, distributing and disposing of library materials.
- →Registers new customers, explains circulation and library use policies, reserves materials, checks items in and out, and clears rotating personnel.
- →Answers general questions about library and base resources and redirects customers as appropriate.
- →Assists customers in locating and utilizing library materials, using library technology, navigating online resources, and placing requests.
- →Shelves returned and new materials following current guidelines.
- →Provides physical processing for new library materials, including limited copy-cataloging under the supervision of a senior staff member.
- →Answers general questions about library and base resources and redirects customers as appropriate.
- →Responsible for opening and closing routines of the facility.
- →Empties the external book return.
- →Takes requests for reserves and interlibrary loans, and periodically checks to see that requests are filled.
- →Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.
- →Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.
- →Takes action to solve problems quickly.
- →Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.
