About the Role

This position is located in the Department of Health and Human Services, Office of Inspector General, Office of Management and Policy. What You'll Do

  • Duties for the Lead Program Analyst GS-0343-14 include but not limited to: Serves as an expert analyst, providing critical analysis of HHS and OIG programs and activities (approximately 75% of the time).
  • The incumbent provides data analytic, audit, inspection, and evaluation expertise, drawing on knowledge and understanding of the substantive nature and interrelationships of the data, programs, planning processes, forecasting methodologies, and management concepts to assist OIG components in conducting oversight work.
  • Critically analyzes, synthesizes, and reports data and findings to satisfy the data provisioning and ad hoc analysis requests from each of the OIG components.
  • Meets with requestors and/or OIG managers to determine the scope of the project and proposes a plan for analysis and a target completion date.
  • Performs a broad range of qualitative and/or quantitative analysis methods for the assessment and improvement of program effectiveness or the improvement of complex management processes and systems.
  • Formulates computerized programs, models, charts, tables, other analytic work products and provides appropriate documentation to aid readers in the correct interpretation of the data and results from analysis work conducted to assist OIG oversight and management components.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates assigned workload using agile processes in order to meet required deadlines and working simultaneously with multiple projects in various stages of the work process.
  • Develops and prepares data for component work papers, written reports, memos, and other documents to summarize results from analysis work conducted to support audits, evaluations, inspections, investigations, and other oversight activities to present recommendations.
